FAQ

  • Statewide contracts are negotiated and approved by the State of NJ. When the State leverages National Cooperative contracts for Statewide use, such as NASPO, Sourcewell, or GSA) those contracts are made available to any State of New Jersey public purchasing entity through the State’s participating addenda. Always follow your organization’s procurement rules when purchasing.

  • NJSTART has the capability to do bids, quotes, requisitions, purchase orders and pay invoices too. Contact us to find out what fits best for your public purchasing organization.

  • For New Jersey- specific information on cooperative contracting, use these links to the NJ Treasury website:

  • You can search for vendors without signing in to NJSTART, however you get much more by signing in. Go to https://www.njstart.gov and search vendors using keywords.

  • When signed in to NJSTART, you can review all contract related attachments such as the original solicitation documents, price lists, and methods of operation if applicable. You can also verify the vendor’s Business Registration Certificate and AAEEOC status among other key features.

  • Marketplace is an integral component of the NJSTART eProcurement system. It allows suppliers to load product/service catalogs related to their contracts with the State. Once catalogs are in place, State users and local governments will use the Marketplace to search for State contracts, shop from them (shopping basket functionality), and generate POs that will be transmitted to the supplier electronically.

  • Periscope is the developer and implementer of the ePro eProcurement system (branded as NJSTART in New Jersey). Periscope also provides other products and services for government procurement and purchasing, including its suite of Periscope S2G products including the operation of a national public sector procurement supplier network. Periscope is managing the NJSTART Cooperative Program on behalf of the State.
